Some people are having difficulty selling their homes due to the traffic noise.Installation of a quieter road surface is 3 years way , sound proof fencing is required on the whole of the A24 western boundary including on the southern flyover.16 letters of complaint have already been written by residents. Please give your support and  write to to Vince Tipper WSCC Highways, Southern Area Office, Clapham,WORTHING West Sussex BN13 3UR demanding that something be done about the noise from the A24 affecting the quality of life of residents of Ashington, particularly those living to the south and east side of the village, although most are affected to some degree. It also requires residents to copy their letters to our Member of Parliament , Nick Herbert House of Commons . London SW1A  OAA or e mail nick@nickherbert.com Please ask WSCC Highways to draw forward the maintenance of the road and provide the quieter surface.

“After School Clubs”. Enquiries of our wonderful C of E school reveal that separately each day there are from 3.05pm to 4.15pm clubs …Netball. Cricket. Multi sports ,Pottery and French The Govt has an “Extended Schools “ agenda seeking to have schools open from 8am to 6pm and possibly  providing meals , yet when parents were asked if they required such , only 4 were interested. If parents really need “after school care” , then our school can provide a list of qualified and vetted names.

If there was enough interest, there are also private companies who run “After School Clubs” for a fee, and these could be held in premises where there are cooking facilities ie Community Centre, Ashington Scout Hall or Methodist Church hall So it looks as if there is no real need, but if enough people do show an interest the possibilities are there.
